Code is like a wine. Vine likes a Sun, it accumulates its energy in the grapes, and code similar to it accumulates your mind in functions, classes and entire programs.

Good code with the time flow became better and better, it getting better flavor and smell, it faster turn your head… Creators of this code always will be proud to show it and be happy to drink this code with the other. In the opposite, bad code with the time flow looks and smells worse and worse; creators try to not think about it and will never stand it as a treat for the friend. The destiny of this code is became vinegar…

When you just create a young code, leave it for a while, let it ferment a bit, and then taste it again, if you taste it well, them more probably this is good code, but if you found it sour, work on it more…

Have you ever drive? Think so. All of us are drivers. People drive cars, bikes, projects, production, business and even life.

Do you remember how you became a driver? This was exciting isn’t it? The feeling that you got the power and make a first step in your life, say a first word, pass your first exam, earn your first money, make a car move, write your first line of code, deploy your first production server is unforgettable. This is feeling of beaten uncertain.

You start with the small foot steps and with the help of the trainer over you. Your parents help you when you start to walk or talk, instructor teach you to drive the car, teacher open for you knowledge, more mature developers ensure that you are doing right with your job.

And after several successful (or not successful attempts) you became a professional, you know how to drive and not think any more about the way to switch from the low gear and driving became a routine. Hm… But there are still so many things that you can’t to drive.

Doubt is very destructive power. Nothing can be built or finished if the doubt have place.

When the idea come to your head, your head is hot, you became to like this idea and direct your efforts to make this idea a reality. But … After some time somebody may say to you that this is probably not very good idea or even more that this is really bad idea… you start to think about it from the bad sides and see that idea is bad, you will see that it is not possible to sell the result like you imagine, or maybe nobody need this result, or it is very hard to get the result… So more probably you will stop move forward at all and will forget about your idea, your dream and lose the opportunity…

If you sail on the “Enthusiasm” caravel you may reach the goal and discover “New Land”, of course you will face with the reef’s and maybe lot of other danger but you will learn a lot from this voyage, even if you finally not reach “New Land” and it stay only a your dream forever.

Of course on the “Doubt” raft you will never face with the danger or reef, but the best you can do on it this is sail from one river bank to other and forget about the alluring horizon.
